QB Tommy DeVito Has Good Chance To Make The Giants Roster

Former Illinois and Syracuse quarterback Tommy DeVito has impressed the New York Giants coaching staff this summer and has a good chance to make the team’s roster, according to a source.

Strong Preseason Performance

DeVito has played well in the Giants’ first two preseason games. In the team’s opener against the New England Patriots, he completed 11 of 16 passes for 112 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Against the Cincinnati Bengals, he went 10 of 13 for 92 yards and one touchdown.

Competition for Backup Role

DeVito is competing with Davis Webb and Tyrod Taylor for the backup quarterback role behind Daniel Jones. Webb has been with the Giants since 2017, while Taylor signed with the team this offseason after spending last season with the Houston Texans.
