Memphis Grizzlies Make Roster Move Before Chicago Bulls Game

Grizzlies Shake Up Roster Ahead of Bulls Matchup

The Memphis Grizzlies made a roster move on Wednesday, waiving forward Jarrett Culver and signing guard Kris Dunn to a 10-day contract.

The move comes as the Grizzlies prepare to face the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night at FedExForum. Culver had been averaging just 2.8 points per game this season, while Dunn is a veteran guard who has played for several NBA teams, including the Bulls.

Dunn Brings Experience and Defense

Dunn is known for his defensive abilities, and he should provide a boost to the Grizzlies’ perimeter defense. He has also shown flashes of offensive potential, averaging 10.2 points per game for the Bulls last season.

“We’re excited to add Kris to our team,” Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said. “He’s a tough, physical guard who can defend multiple positions. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can contribute.”

Culver Struggles to Find Role

Culver was the 6th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but he has not lived up to expectations in Memphis. He has averaged just 3.8 points per game in two seasons with the Grizzlies.

“Jarrett has worked hard, but he just hasn’t been able to find a consistent role on our team,” Kleiman said. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Grizzlies Look to Improve Playoff Push

The Grizzlies are currently 34-29 and in seventh place in the Western Conference. They are hoping to make a push for the playoffs, and the addition of Dunn could help them do that.

“We’re confident that Kris can help us win games,” Kleiman said. “He’s a proven winner, and we’re looking forward to him being a part of our team.”
