AEW officially kicked off the road to Revolution with a special edition of Dynamite on January 11th named Collision and it delivered. In a loaded card featuring both the men’s and women’s world champions in action, there were plenty of highlights, big moments, and title changes to keep fans entertained.
On paper, the biggest winner of the night was undoubtedly MJF, who successfully retained his AEW World Championship against Ricky Starks in the main event. Wardlow turned on Starks and aligned himself with Stokely Hathaway during the match, and while he didn’t cost Starks the match, the numbers game proved to be too much in the end. MJF took advantage of the situation and hit Starks with the low blow and the Salt of the Earth to pick up the victory.
Another big winner on the night was Darby Allin, who defeated Samoa Joe in a brutal TNT Championship match. The match was a back-and-forth affair, and it was unclear who would come out on top until the end. Allin hit Joe with the Coffin Drop and followed it up with a Coffin Drop off the top rope onto the TNT Championship belt to retain his title.
Jade Cargill also had a successful night, retaining her AEW TBS Championship against Red Velvet. Cargill dominated the match from start to finish, and she hit Velvet with the Jaded Driver to get the victory. Cargill’s victory extends her reign as TBS Champion to 377 days.
