
Michelle Williams Debuts in ‘Death Becomes Her’ Musical in Chicago
Four-time Academy Award nominee, Michelle Williams, will make her Chicago Theatre debut when DEATH BECOMES HER, a new musical adaptation of the iconic 1992 film, begins performances at the James M. Nederlander Theatre on June 29, 2023.
From the Silver Screen to the Stage
Based on the novel by John Van Meter, DEATH BECOMES HER tells the twisted and darkly comedic tale of two aging actresses, Madeline Ashton (played by Williams) and Helen Sharp (played by Vanessa Hudgens), whose rivalry turns deadly when they both become obsessed with staying young and beautiful forever.
A Star-Studded Cast
Joining Williams and Hudgens in the cast are Tony Award nominee James Monroe Iglehart as Ernest Menville, Tony Award winner Rachel York as Lisle Von Rhoman, and Tony Award nominee Sullivan Jones as Dakota Johnson.
Directing and Choreography
The musical is directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer and choreographed by Olivier Award winner Casey Nicholaw. With a book by Tony Award nominee Tony Kushner and music and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Yazbek, DEATH BECOMES HER promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience.
