S.E. Cupp On Meghan McCain, Abby Huntsman, & 'The View'

Former “The View” co-host, S.E. Cupp, recently shared her thoughts on her former colleagues, Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman, and their experiences on the show. Cupp, who left “The View” in 2015, provided insights into the show’s often-tumultuous dynamics.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Cupp stated she had “a lot of respect” for McCain and Huntsman, whom she described as “strong women.” However, she also acknowledged the inherent challenges of being a co-host on the show.

“The View” is known for its lively discussions of current events and politics. This often polarized format can create tension both on and off-screen, as Cupp attested.

“It’s a very challenging environment to work in,” she explained. “There’s a lot of pressure to have strong opinions and be able to articulate them clearly.” Cupp emphasized that the show’s format requires co-hosts to engage in robust debates, even if they don’t always align on the issues.

During her time on “The View,” Cupp co-hosted alongside McCain and Huntsman. She observed a shift in the show’s dynamic following the departure of then-co-host Rosie O’Donnell.

“I think it became more of ‘The Meghan and Abby Show’ than ‘The View,'” Cupp remarked. She attributed this to the shared conservative viewpoints of McCain and Huntsman, which often led to “a lot of overlap” in their opinions.

Since Cupp’s departure in 2015, “The View” has undergone several changes in its co-host lineup. Cupp believes that these transitions have allowed the show to regain some of its balance.

“I think the show has evolved and grown since I left,” she said. “It’s become more diverse, and the co-hosts have different perspectives. That’s important for a show like ‘The View.'”

S.E. Cupp’s insights provide valuable perspectives on the challenges faced by women in media, especially those who engage in political commentary. “The View” has been a platform for female voices for over two decades, and its dynamic nature has sparked much discussion.

Cupp’s comments highlight the importance of diversity in both conversations and representation. They also underscore the challenges women face when navigating the often-polarized landscape of political discourse.
