Impact On Venus Williams
“I’m like, ‘Ugh, this is not what I signed up for’,” Venus Williams said. “I was like, ‘I’m going to retire and then you’re going to retire, and we’re going to go off and do whatever we want to do.’ And she’s like, ‘Nope, I’m still playing.’ So I’m like, ‘OK.'”
Future Plans
Venus Williams said that she is still planning to retire after the 2022 season. However, she also said that she is open to playing beyond that if her sister continues to play.
“I don’t know what the future holds,” Venus Williams said. “But I’m just going to keep playing as long as I can.”
